Countdown has started! Producers posted the trailer of the most awaited web series on Amazon Prime Video, Panchayat: Season 3 on Wednesday. The previous season ended with a cliffhanger when it was quite ambiguous whether or not Abhishek Tripathi played by Jitendra Kumar would continue as the Gram Panchayat secretary in Phulera after Pradhan Pati had a disagreement with a politician.

The brand-new season once again follows the Panchayat cast members, including Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy and Sanvikaa. Originally released in April 2020, the 8-part series quickly became a cultural sensation. Due to the fabulous reviews, both by viewers and reviewers, another season was created, premiering in May 2022.

Talking through a press statement, Manish Menghani, director – content licensing, Prime Video India, revealed the secret behind the cult following of this web series. “Panchayat is one of the most loved Indian Amazon Originals and it not only resonated with our audiences in India but with audiences worldwide. The essence of this heartwarming comedy is its simple storyline around the laid-back village life with some serious sarcasm revolving around daily happenings of the people of Phulera. The series is produced by one of the famous YouTube channels, The Viral Fever . In ‘Panchayat,’ Abhishek Tripathi, is an engineering graduate who gets the opportunity to be a Gram Panchayat Secretary, albeit a low-paying one posted at Phulera, as opposed to his anticipated plush IT job. His struggles to accept the rural lifestyle and hidden social principles of Phulera, an isolated village in Uttar Pradesh, make this one a hilarious comedy. But in the end, the old saying stands valid, “One way or another, you’ll fall in love with Phulera”.
